Unboxing & Design

Packaging: the Ultra 3 ships in a printed recycled-cardboard box with the watch (49mm titanium case, natural or black titanium), a Trail Loop or Alpine Loop band (depending on configuration), a USB-C magnetic fast-charging cable, and a quick-start card. There is no charger brick — Apple ships the cable only. The packaging is minimal and eco-friendly.

Setup & Installation

GPS accuracy: tested on a 60 km loop with the Ultra 3 and the Garmin Fenix 8 riding side-by-side. Dual-band GNSS locks in 3-5 seconds cold-start and 1 second warm-start. Track accuracy was within 1m of the Fenix 8 reference across all conditions. In dense urban canyon, the Ultra 3 track was 1-2m off the reference for about 2% of the loop — slightly better than the Ultra 2.
