The GoPro Hero 13 Black launched in late 2025 as GoPro's flagship action camera. The big changes for 2026: 5.3K 60 fps video, HyperSmooth 6.0 stabilization, and modular HB-Series lenses.
What cyclists care about
Stabilization. HyperSmooth 6.0 is the best-in-class action camera stabilization. Footage from a chest- or helmet-mounted GoPro on rough roads is genuinely gimbal-like. For cycling videos, this is the single most important feature.
Battery life. 90 minutes at 5.3K is enough for a 2-hour ride if you swap batteries. The new Enduro battery extends this to 150 minutes at 1080p.
Modular lenses
The HB-Series lens mount allows swapping between standard, ultra-wide, macro, and anamorphic lenses. For cyclists, the ultra-wide lens is the most useful — it captures more of the road and surroundings without fisheye distortion.
The verdict
The GoPro Hero 13 Black is the best action camera for cyclists in 2026. The stabilization is unmatched, the modular lens system is genuinely useful, and the battery life is adequate for most rides. At $399, it's expensive but worth it for serious cycling videographers. For casual use, the older GoPro Hero 12 Black ($299) or Insta360 GO 3 ($399) are good alternatives.
