WHEN TO CLIMB, WHEN TO DROP
Four riding postures and six time-of-day buckets, paired up with a coach-style fit score. Use it to answer the practical question: “what should I do on tomorrow’s early-morningride?” The matrix is a curated knowledge artifact \u2014 not a recommendation engine \u2014 but it gives the right vocabulary for picking the right posture at the right hour.
The matrix
Rows are the four JoyFit riding postures (seeJoyFitfor the geometry deltas). Columns are the six time-of-day buckets that cover the full 24 hours. Hover a cell for the coach-style rationale.

Traffic returns after work. Lights become essential.
Lights + high-vis kit mandatory. Quiet roads, low visibility.
Methodology & your data
The fit score in each cell is a curated coach-style heuristic, not a measurement. The matrix assumes a recreational cyclist with a road or gravel bike and standard road tires \u2014 mountain biking, commuting with panniers, or wet/icy conditions may flip a “great” to “avoid”. Treat the score as a starting question, not a verdict.
We don’t tag activities with a posture in JoyOne yet, so we can’t automatically show “your drops in the evening” data on this page. Thetrain heatmapshows your actual time-of-day distribution \u2014 use it to spot patterns (e.g. “all my weekend rides are already in the morning window that’s great for climbing”) and plan your next posture experiment.
