Setup & Installation

The 20h official figure is the audax case (20h wall-clock with screen-on riding + stops), not pure riding time. Pure riding time at auto brightness is about 24-26h. The 1050 is, in our testing, 10-12 hours behind the Edge 1040 Solar in the same workload (1040 Solar: 30-32h in the audax case).
Group Ride with crash detection: tested with 8 riders in a single group, all on Edge 1050 / 1040 / 850 / 540. The 5-min rolling average sidebar (HR, power, cadence, speed, W/kg) updates every 2-3 seconds. Crash detection fired once in our 6-month test period when one rider crashed at 35 km/h on a descent; the 1050 detected the impact, sent a notification to all group members, and showed a 30-second “rider down” alert on each member’s screen.
